Putting these lesser known titles on other platforms (like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Game Pass) could get the attention of many for simply being PlayStation developed and then eventually they'll be recognized for better. The reason I think this would be a step in the right direction is mostly because PlayStation already have games people will be more interested in like titles such as God of War and Horizon compared to games like ape escape and Locoroco which are on a smaller scale and unlikely get the same attention. In fact, I think it's possible for them to have plans to release an array of Japan Studio games to other platforms to reach a wider audience, give them the push these games need to prove how good they really are. Patapon is definitely is not out of the picture for Sony. Hopefully this post atleast bring a bit of information from what's going on behind the team since I rarely seen people actually talking about what happened internally. This is basically my take on this matter and god I loved this game as this is my no.1 game series that have special place on my heart(Monster Hunter being my no.2) that honestly it genuinely deserves more. Is there any hope? The only saving grace we have to have a new game is that Sony themselves would just "anyways let's do it" and then funds for the sequel/prequel and worked by a new team entirely (which is highly unlikely) The team behind the game is hardly there anymore and even them creating a entire new team for a new Patapon game would be highly impossible in their current manpower and problems. Pyramid is mainly focusing it's smartphone development specially looking at Alice Gear Aegis(mobile game) which will also receiving a anime adaptation (Which I think would atleast bring them profit both pyramid and it's producer "COLOPL"). Pyramid is mainly the one behind the series Pyramid have 75 people (as of December 2020) Both Studios having hard time to find new recruits as evidently seen on their websites Most programmer that worked on Patapon had been inactive ever since and some that remains(which is mostly in 2018 helped on programming SSBU but been inactive since then) The former head of pyramid studios "Atsushi Ii" resigned in favour of making a new one which is "Black Bandit Q." Both Japan Studios and Pyramid haven't released a true new IP in a while Now here's the thing that I'm able to gather about the team made the series: Many people asking for a prequel which is arguably really great to explore the past and the ancient civilization of patapon. Now let's get into "Why Patapon would never have another game."Īfter Patapon 3 it wraps up the story as a whole and the series was designed into a trilogy as it's the last injection for the series. Why? Let's answer that later.Ī remastered? Patapon 3? The chances of this happening is indeed there but it's only a matter of time if they would remastered the third game since it's technically been three years since Patapon 2 got remastered (2020) so the more time passes the likelihood of a remastered for the third would be lowered. The game presents a variety of warrior types such as archers, infantry, cavalry, and more that players can unlock, along with a wide selection of more than 100 weapon and shield upgrades, allowing players to customize their forces throughout the funky adventure. After looking at all post and individuals perception of having another patapon game might as well established and answer this question this year.Ī full on sequel, prequel, or a spin-off relating on something entirely new is highly unlikely and impossible at the current circumstances that it will happen. Incorporating various button-timed drumbeats in real-time to control the Patapons, players will strategically traverse through each environment, battling enemies each step of the way. Set among a variety of colorful 2D backgrounds, Patapon unfolds through more than 30 missions with more than 20 different environments, where players are tasked with outfitting the Patapon army, collecting resources, and using strategy to grow the tribe into a devastating fighting force.
